You were always a beacon of practicality and honesty. Thank you for being my home-away-from-home during college. You left a lasting impression on all my friends lucky enough to meet you. I'll always treasure the year you welcomed Cody's family into your home for Thanksgiving and brought us together as one big family, frozen olives and all. Thank you for being so loving to Livia and such a good pal to Hattie dog :-)

I’ll always cherish my childhood memories of summer days in your backyard together - whether it was planting or eating carrots from the garden, wading in the little pool, looking at the birds or exploring the alley. You’re laugh, hugs, special holiday dinners and tinsel covered Christmas trees won’t be forgotten ????.

So many happy memories of times spent with Aunt Norma. We will all miss her, but are comforted that she is in a better place- even if they don't have martinis on the menu there.

With love and precious memories you have always been in our lives and heart. The McKean and Fay families have been so blessed to have an auntie as loving, joyful and dear as you. Our special day, November 19, will always be a martini memory, as it always appeared on a card. Love you always and will miss you forever.

My Auntie Norma. So many good, loving memories. Christmas, Thanksgiving family dinners. I remember spending the night with you when you went into labor with John Pete and I ended up at Aunt Rita's and Uncle Al's. Thank you for the memories. We will be united again one day.

It has been many years but I will always treasure the friendship with you and Jack. The kids still talk about the fun camping trips. Wonderful memories.

Norma, you are so much a part of my family's memories on Mead street! Your sense of humor, generosity and upbeat spirit always made us feel welcome in your home, and those qualities were instilled and are carried on in your children. What a wonderful friend you have been to my mom! You will be and are already missed, but now you are in a better place. Much love!!

I have so many enlightening memories of Grandma. She was always so happy and cheerful, and she never disappointed having some hard candies on her dining table for us when we visited. I love how Grandma would make up words like an ugly “gaggy poo goo” pea green color or how she called jalapeños “halla-peenies.” She has a generous soul that she shared with everyone around her while she was alive, and I know she’s smiling down on us all right now as we gather together to celebrate what a wonderful woman she was. We love you!

Norma, I thought this song best defined your view of death: "let the mystery be" by Greg Brown. Thank you for creating and maintaining "family," all you did will be an example to live by - you lived your life with love.

Grandma, your hugs were the epitome of home. You showed kindness, love and appreciation for even the most trivial things, and taught me to enjoy the world from the vastness of the blue sky with the Blue Angels tearing through it, to the crows in the trees and squirrels in your bird feeder. I loved our time together drinking coffee at 8:00 pm with the news station turned up 4 dials too loud, all the holidays we had from the golden egg hunt at Easter, Fourth of July in the San Juans waving our flags, Thanksgiving trying to figure out how long and at what temperature to actually roast the turkey, and sitting around in a circle as we all tore into our Christmas presents. I respect, admire and love you with a heart that misses you even more. I hope you are finding peace, and I hope you found where they keep tbe ice cream.

My Grandma Smoczyk is beautiful, smart, graceful, and gracious. Grandma has blessed this world with her love and grace. She poured her love into everything from flowers to animals to people. I will always remember the yummy dishes of treats in her mini tables, holidays, getting to be taken to the local parks, going to the ranch and learning how she grew up. I’m proud to call myself her granddaughter! GRANDMA SMOCZYK: Forever missed. Forever loved. Grandma I can’t wait until we meet again! I love you. Always.
