In loving memory Wanda Elizabeth Joyce (Dougherty) passed away on March 18, 2022.
Wanda was born and raised in Payette Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter John Joyce along with sisters Vivian Graham, Hazel Allsopp and brother Lloyd Dougherty. She is survived by her sisters Denise Crowder and Vera Bertram. Daughter Ellen Malvick and son-in-law Steve Malvick, granddaughters Mindy Harp and Megan Malvick, grandson-in-law Travis Harp, great grandson’s Liam and Kellan Harp. Wanda graduated from Payette Highschool and later received her CNA from Treasure Valley Community College. Wanda began her working career at The Blue Bird and Maudie Owen’s café in Payette Idaho. Wanda married her dashing husband Walter Joyce in 1961 and became a hard-working ranch wife. They ranched 10 miles up a dirt road from Juntura Oregon. The family sold and moved to Vale Oregon so that their daughter Ellen could attend high school in 1976. Wanda and Walter later moved to Ontario and then to Heppner to enjoy their retirement. After her husband passed Wanda moved to Portland to be close to family. Wanda held jobs at the Vale Pioneer Nursing Home, Quisenberry’s, Bilingual School and Pleasant Autumn Assisted Living. Wanda was known to many as “Wanda the Wonder Woman”. Wanda was a talented and gifted seamstress. She sewed and designed dresses for many weddings including the wedding dress for her daughter Ellen. Wanda was also talented at cake decorating, crafting, gardening and cooking. Her favorite hobby of all was collecting Barbie Dolls and making clothes for them.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ.
We will miss you. God Bless you and rest in peace until we meet again.
