Obituary of Margaret Ann Tint

Margaret Ann "Mikki" Tint was born in Portland, Oregon, December 3, 1951, to Herman and Virginia Tint and passed away January 2, 2021, at a care home in West Linn, Oregon.  Mikki attended Glencoe Elementary and graduated from Madison High School in 1969.  She attended Southern Oregon University, graduated from University of Oregon in 1973 in English Literature, and earned a  Masters of Library Science in 1977.  She started her career by working at Multnomah County Library and then went on to become Photos Acquisition Librarian at the Oregon Historical Society for 25 years.

She is a founding member of the English Folk Dance Team of Wild Rose Garland and danced, performed, and wrote several dances.  She  was instrumental in writing the book "Dancing Flowers" to pass on the Garland dances of the English traditions, performing all over the Northwest, Ashland Shakespearean festival and Chesterfield England.

 

Mikki also created her jewelry business "Beady Little Mind" and made very creative designs.  She attended glass beadmaking classes  and created exquisite mixed-color glass beads which she used in her necklaces.

Mikki is survived by her brother  Lee A. Tint of Portland, Oregon, and was preceded in death by her parents and lovely niece Alexandra Tint.

Memories may be recorded with Crown Memorial Services, and memorial donations may be made to Oregon Historical Society Library.

 

Mikki and her family has asked that Memorial donations go to Oregon Historical Society Library, 1200 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97205.

 

A Zoom Memorial service witl be held Saturday February 13th at 2:00 p.m.
