Obituary of James Louis Collins
James was born in Omaha, Nebraska and died in Portland, Oregon. During WWII he served his nation in the Army, and later worked in the insurance industry.
Besides enjoying golf and caring for a pet African Grey parrot named Kato, James was also a member of the Optimists and Elks Clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Lelia of Portland, daughter/son-in-law, Joan Jensen and Jim Evers of Howell, Michigan, son, James Jay Collins of Portland, daughter/son-in-law, Paula & Jim Hale of Portland, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren plus one on the way.
A service with full military honors is planned for Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Memorial contributions may be given to Clackamas County Dog Services and the Veterinarian Fund at 13141 SE Hwy 212, Clackamas, OR 97015.
