Obituary of Dewey Robert Harless
Dewey R. Harless passed peacefully on March 6, 2012. Born in 1928, in Ashford, WV and moved to Portland, OR with his family in 1945. He was a graduate of Jefferson HS and spent 2 years in the US Army before returning to Portland to earn a Bachelor's degree and a MBA from Lewis & Clark College,
Dewey was best known as the owner of Armory Automotive and R.H. Kelly Co. He was a well-known race car driver as well and enjoyed restoring old cars. Dewey was active in his church as a one-time deacon at First Presbyterian Church and the community. He was a member of Cascade Multnomah Athletic Club, Riverside CC, and Astoria CC.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy, his daughters Heidi Segreti (James), Hilary Greener (Shaun), his son Kimble Harless, 6 grandchildren and his beloved cat Roxie.
Dewey requested no services and for his ashes to be spread over a few of his favorite places. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels and/or the American Heart Association.
