Obituary of Josephine Lenore Rasmussen

Josephine Lenore Rasmussen, 94, went to live with the Lord on February 22, 2015. Mom enjoyed growing up and living in Oregon. She loved the diversity of Oregon with its oceans, mountain and flowers. The constant rain, not so much. After high school she trained and worked as a florist. When our nation entered into WWII she enlisted in the Navy as a Wave and served in Pasco, WA. After WWII she once again became a florist and worked in a small shop. In 1953, she married Harold and bore 5 children. Mom enjoyed raising her children and being a housewife until her children were grown. She then started her own florist shop, Rose City Florist, and co-ran the Rose City Variety Store with our dad. Upon retirement she and dad decided to winter in Arizona and summer in Oregon (the best of both worlds with year around golf). She truly enjoyed playing golf and creating things through many arts and crafts projects. Mom even became a certified Duncan ceramics instructor to further her talents. Mom loved life and participated in it fully. We will miss you mom but know that you are in a better place without the pain and infirmity you have endured these last few months. Rest is peace. A celebration of life will be held April 17th in Oregon.
