Obituary of Geraldine Emily Embree

“Gerry” passed away peacefully in her own home. She was the youngest of three children born to Otto E. and Matilda M. Graser, all of whom preceded her in death. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon where she continued to live until she passed away. She was a loving and devoted wife and the mother of two children and dozens of pets. She was married to Floyd F. Embree for 49 years before his passing in 1988. They had one son, Kevin, and one daughter, Kelly. She also leaves behind a daughter in law, Cinda, and two grandsons Geoffrey and Jordan Embree, and many nieces and nephews. Gerry was a graduate of Roosevelt high School, class of 1939. She enjoyed dining, dancing and golf, and had many friends and a variety of social groups from Bunco with the women from Queen of Peace Catholic Church to her sorority sisters who would get together monthly. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Elks club where she enjoyed dancing to her favorite bands with friends. Until recent years she remained an active member of the Retired Police Association and their souses. As per Gerry’s request there will not be a funeral. There will be a private inurnment for close family and friends at Willamette National Cemetery where her ashes will be buried with her husband Floyd.
