Obituary of Sharon Rose Hubble
Sharon Rose Hubble, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. She lived in her home in Southeast Portland for more than 30 years.
Sharon was born on August 1, 1939 in Death Valley, California to Robert and Betty Gillespie. In 1956 she married James Franklin Wiley. They were later divorced. She attended Franklin High School until 1956. She was a faithful employee at Providence Business Office for close to 20 years, where she was loved and respected by all. She was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, inspiring her daughter and granddaughters to be the same. At age 38, she met the legendary Al Davis in Pasadena, California while attending Superbowl XI. The Raiders destroyed the Minnesota Vikings 32-14 at the hands of John Madden; Just Win Baby. Throughout her life, and right till the very end, Sharon had an amazing sense of humor that brightened the mood of anyone she came in contact with.
Sharon is survived by her children, Christie and James; daughter-in-law Kathy; son-in-law Kirk, grandchildren Michelle, Elizabeth, Christopher and Kari; great-grandchildren Blake, Tristan, Ryder, Remy, Rocket and Robert. Her son, Steven, preceded her in death
There will be no service, per her request. However, a celebration of life will be in her honor later. The family plans to spread her ashes at Hanauma Bay in Oahu, Hawaii; Sharon’s favorite place on earth.
Her family would like to thank Serenity Hospice for their tender care and wonderful staff and Holgate Friendship Center for the help and care they gave Sharon in her final days of life.
