Obituary of Velma Grace Storey Nichol

Velma was born November 12th, 1922 in Eugene Oregon. She attended Elmira School in Elmira, Oregon. She worked as a telephone operator and bookkeeper, and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, gardening, and walking pets (she loved dogs and cats). She was a Seventh Day Adventist. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Nichol Springstead of Beaverton, OR and by her sons, James H. Nichol of Gladstone, OR and David E. Nichol of Portland, OR. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Earl Nichol, Jr. who passed away in 1979. A Memorial for Velma was held at Willamette National Cemetery, where she was interred alongside her late husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (http://alz.org/).
