Obituary of Jacqueline Ann Arnold
Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Arnold (Benson)
Jacqueline was born in Denver, Colorado, to Norman and Elizabeth Benson on June 9, 1961. She moved to Oregon in 1972 at the age of 9. She attended Cleveland High School. She met Donovan Arnold and the two of them married on August 2, 1991 in Vancouver, Washington. Jacqueline worked as a deli manager and a construction flagger but her real career was a loving wife, mother and friend. She specialized in trying to make everyone happy. She did foster care for 12 years and was active with the Gladstone Girls Softball Association and was well known by numerous people in the community. She was a supporter of baseball, softball and other school and community events often seeking donations for raffles for these events. She loved ceramic painting and had an extensive dragon collection, some that were purchased and some that were self painted. She was the first to be available in the time of need for others and had an “open door policy” where everyone was always welcome in her home. Jacqueline’s health was a roller coaster of medical issues and she often looked to her brother in law, David, as her medical advocate. Her boxer, Sophie, was her constant companion whether sitting in the living room or laying in bed. Jacqueline was compassionate, family loving, funny caring, loved kids and had a winsome laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Jackie passed away at home with family by her side on February 18, 2012. She leaves behind her husband Donovan Arnold of Gladstone, Oregon; daughter Tiffany Arnold of Gladstone, Oregon; son Brandon Arnold of Gladstone, Oregon; son PJ Bohn of Milwaukie, Oregon; son Josh Reeder of Denver, Colorado; brother Kirk Varra of Denver, Colorado; sister Cindy Varra of Denver, Colorado; sister Fancy Loch of Denver, Colorado; daughter in law Tracy Reeder of Denver, Colorado; sister in law Lisa Varra of Denver, Colorado; brother in law Richard Loch of Denver, Colorado; and parents Norman and Elizabeth Benson of Denver, Colorado. There will be a memorial service at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, 290 W. Gloucester, Gladstone, Oregon 97027, at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 25, 2012. If you wish to make a donation in her name you may do so to Doernbecher Children’s hospital.
