Obituary of Linda Lu Ponci

Linda Lu (Spignesi) Ponci was born at Tinker Air Force , Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ruby and Robert Spignesi. During her youth she moved to Colorado, California, Scotland, and Germany. In school she excelled in Choir and Drama, and made lifelong friends before graduating in 1973. As an adult, Linda continued to move and travel. She entered the insurance business, working her way up from desk clerk to underwriting auditor, and met her husband and love of her life, Craig Ponci. While married 31 years, they lived in Washington, California, and Oregon. She enjoyed the outdoors, and often went camping, fishing, and on road trips with her husband. Linda was always an ideal mother, full of love and patience. Her daughter's friends frequently called her "mom". She selflessly cared for others, and always went the extra mile to ensure they were taken care of. Not only a good-hearted person, she was also beautiful, fun and full of life. She had many hobbies, including collecting films, especially the classics, and entertaining for the holidays. Her extravagant decorating made the seasons festive and her home inviting. Linda was involved in her neigborhood association and always had a hand in her children's schools. She loved and enjoyed her young grandson, and she maintained friendships around the world, including alumni from Bitburg American High School in Germany. Preceeded in death by her sister, Cynthia Spignesi-Harris and father, Robert Spignesi. Survived by her Mother, Ruby Spignesi, brother Robert K. Spignesi, sister Sandra Whitesell, husband Craig Ponci, daughters Stephanie and Jennifer Ponci, and grandson Hayden Ponci. "Your smile will always be remembered, and will always provide warmth and comfort" A Memorial Mass will be Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12:00pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie, Oregon.
