Obituary of Arthur Phillip Lloyd
Arthur Phillip Lloyd of Portland, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the age of 29. Art was a generous, kind, humorous, gifted and intelligent person, who enjoyed music, especially playing guitar, reading, playing cards, movies, and the great outdoors. Art was born in Austin, Texas, on December 7, 1981, to David Alan Lloyd, and Valerie Louise Steinbock (now Whittlesey). He attended school in Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon. He was a student at Portland State University, and studied music at Portland Community College. He was very interested in Eastern religions. Art had many friends in the Portland area, where he was a regular fixture, "busking" for change on sidewalks, playing numerous songs that he had written, which showed a unique musical and poetic sensibility. Art is survived by his father and stepmother David and Janice Lloyd, of Austin Texas, mother Valerie Whittlesey of Portland, sister Miranda Johnston, stepsister Stephanie Russell, aunts, uncles and other family members including Alan and Amy Lloyd, Mary Lloyd, Martha and Larry Messer, Aimee Steinbock and Jerry Presley, Michael Steinbock and Alanna Powell, Phyllis and Jerry Hobson, Nancy Steinbock, Ellie Godfrey, Steven Steinbock, and numerous cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and relatives.
