Obituary of Michael Earl Ford

Michael was born February 21, 1963 to William Earl Logan and Carrieola “Mookie” Ford Bradford, in Lake View, South Carolina. He was their only child. Michael grew up in the Fordtown Community of Lake View, surrounded by countless family and friends. He and his mother later moved to Oklahoma where Michael met Terry Garner and together had 2 sons, Andre and Deon. Michael also had another son Brandon. Terry’s mother Mary Lou loved Michael as a son after his own mother died, always making sure he was not forgotten. Michael loved Mary Lou just as much, even flying her to Portland to attend his wedding. Michael moved to Portland in 2001 to make a better life for himself. In 2008, he met his wife Michelle at St. Jude’s Church and later became one of its Deacons. Michael is preceded in death by his father William and his mother Carrieola. Michael leaves to mourn his loving wife Michelle, his “Mom” Mary Lou, sons Andre, Deon, and Brandon grandchildren, nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and countless cousins, uncles and aunts. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held in Portland at St. Jude's Church at 5503 NE Prescott on Saturday, November 19th at 1pm as well as Monday, November 21st in Lake View, South Carolina. Michael will be laid to rest at the Union AME Cemetery in Lake View, South Carolina.
