Obituary of David Dennis Sigsby

David Sigsby, 68, passed away on November 5, 2011 at his Dundee home. David was born in Coos Bay, Oregon on September 30, 1943 to Howard and Seena Sigsby. He attended grade school in Charleston, Oregon, and high school at North Bend High School. David then received further education at Southwestern Community College. He spent 3 years in the United Stated Navy Aviation based in Corpus Christy, Texas. On June 25, 1966 he married Tyra Sigsby in Reno, Nevada. David had a 15 year career with Safeway and owned his own grocery store in Charleston for 13 years. He ran a liquor store in Astoria until retirement in 2008. Aside from his hard work, David enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and fishing, and loved to golf and collect baseball cards. He was a member of the Elks, Moose, American Legion. Survivors include David’s wife Tyra Sigsby; sons Mike and wife Tina of Dundee, Jarrod and wife Catriona of San Clemente, California, Blayne and Cole Martinez of San Clemente; parents Howard and Seena Sigsby of North Bend; brother Bob and wife Ava Sigsby of Hanover, Massachusetts; sisters Sue and husband Mike Plouvoy of Coos Bay, Joni and husband John Goddard of Iowa; niece and nephews Tom and Ben Sigsby, Anji Mitcheal and Dusty Hinds; and grandchildren Amanda and Tyler Sigsby.
