Obituary of Patricia McGillen Yakavonis
Patricia “Granny” Yakavonis passed away on November 1, 2011. Granny was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 19, 1934. She spent time living in New Jersey, Philly and Scituate, MA. She and her beloved husband John moved to Florida, where they lived until his death. She then moved out to the West Coast to be with her daughter, Kathleen in Ocean Park, WA.
Granny was a caretaker most of her life; sometimes paid, sometimes not. She enjoyed playing and spending time with her family, church, country music, going out to lunch with her daughter, Christmas shopping all year (!), NFL Football (go Patriots!) and our troops. She was never in the military, but boy, she was ever grateful for veterans.
Patricia is survived by her daughter; Kathleen Davis & her husband, Curt (Ocean Park), sons; Don Morrisroe (Washington), and Frank Morrisroe (Arizona), grandsons; Kevin Hansford & wife Jeannine (Arizona), Rocky, Alex and David Davis (all Washington), sisters; Marie Esposito & husband Dom (New Jersey), and Carol Ann (New Jersey), brother; Jay McGillen & his wife Elaine (New Jersey), granddaughter; Jennifer Davis, her fiancé Uriah Calhoun, & great grandson, Kaiden (Washington), grandson; Justin Morrisroe, his wife Miranda and son Judah (Florida), granddaughters; Jaime Morrisroe and Lisa Runquist, her husband Jon and daughter Lucy.
Granny was preceded in death by her sister; Margret, father; Joseph McGillen, and her beloved husband, John F. Yakavonis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 7th, 2011 at 3:00 pm at the Ocean Park Lutheran Church. Contributions can be made to Community Table c/o Ocean Park Lutheran Church.
