Obituary of James Edward Lewis
James was born in Emelle, Alabama on March 14, 1950 and passed away in Portland, Oregon on October 30, 2011. Survivors include his cousin Mary. James was raised by his Grandmother Magnolia and his father Elbert in Maywood, Illinois. He graduated in 1969 from Proviso East, also in Maywood. In 1976 he moved to Portland, Oregon to live with his Auntie Lugene and his Grandmother, who preceded him in death. In 2002 he moved in with his cousin Mary and her husband Lenell until his passing. James had an excellent memory. He knew all his relatives and friends birthdays and would always call them. He never met a person he didn't like. His hobbies were watching game shows and listening to gospel and rhythm and blues music. He will be remembered fondly by a host of cousins and friends.
