Obituary of Robert William Quiett

Lake Oswego resident Robert William Quiett passed away on October 26th, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. Born November 3rd, 1924 in Seattle, Washington he lived in Eastern Washington, Grandview, Grand Coulee and Seattle at various times in his youth. After high school he served in the United States Navy as a Yeoman 2nd Class in both WWII and the Korean War. He was first married to Nita Kay for 27 years--she was the mother of his four children. His last marriage to Pegge Ballis endured for 32 years. A carpenter and cabinet maker by trade, he enjoyed boating, traveling, socializing, entertaining, golf, reading and playing cards. He was also an expert on the history of WWII, and was a member of the Catholic Church. Robert is survived by his daughters Carolyn Parker of Lafayette, California and Judy Washbond of LaGrande, Oregon and by his son Robert Quiett, Jr. of Sherwood, Oregon. He is also survived by his step-son Jeffrey Bellis of Tigard, Oregon, step-daughter Hester Loomis of Calistoga, California and sister Patty Sandberg of Hillsboro, Oregon. He is further survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Pegge Bellis Quiett, Nita Quiett and Peter Quiett, who died in 1973. A private graveside service will be held at Lake Oswego Pioneer Memorial Park. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
