MOM, as anyone who knew her, was a very friendly person. who cared a lot about people, and their well being. she was kind, considerate, generous, and willing to do what she could, for others. she was my best friend, and always there, to give advice, helpful opinions, and money if you needed helped out on something. she has always been the core of our family, and we all looked to her for friendship, and help. she will be very much missed, by all who knew her. Mom always looked out for us kids, and wanted what's best for us. for having a basic education, and leaving school her junior year, she was one of the smartest people I've ever known! she loved to read, and she always surprised me with her knowledge of vocabulary. I used to call her the walking dictionary! if you needed to know a word, or the meaning of a word, she could always tell you. and she had a very keen memory, about history, or anything, you needed to know. She should have been on Jeopardy! Mom appreciated the little things in life, and acts of kindness. if you did something for her, she greatly appreciated it. It made me happy to be able to fill her heart with music. it has been my joy, and privilege, throughout our lives, to be able to play music for her. through her love, and inspiration, music on the organ, was a big part of our love for one another. I HAVE LOST MY NUMBER 1 FAN---WITH ALL MY HEART, I LOVE YOU MOM--BILL

Your Mom was a lucky person to have kids that appreciated her as much as all of you clearly do. I know how hard it is to lose somebody who was always on your side, no matter what, and who enriched your life in so many ways. They say time heals all wounds, but this wound will never heal completely. Some time in the future, though, you'll be able to smile when you think of her instead of cry. Ken, Jenny, Melissa, Norman, my Mom and me, all send our condolences to you Bill, Anita, Tyler, Dave, and Christa on this sad occasion. I am so, so sorry for your loss. Love, Julie Gage

Mom,I'll miss the visits to your house, the breakfasts at Jaspers where I talked like a magpie while we ate, your wisdom, your love, your smile, and most of all your kindness and generosity with all of us as well as others. You were truly a giving person, and enhanced the lives of all who knew you. May your soul soar with the angels. I love you and always will.

Elma was my favorite aunt, almost like a mother. When I was around five or six, I spent summers living with her and Uncle Charles and she treated me (and my brother Pat) like her own children. She and Uncle Charles did not have any children of their own at that point. Those visits were magical to us, as she was so caring and committed to giving us a good time. Throughout my life, she has been an avid supporter, regardless of what I was working on, whether it was as a newspaper reporter, businessman or grant writer for good causes. She has been a loyal, loving sister and confidant to my mother, also. We all miss her A LOT. We also trust that she is in a better place and comfortable now, feeling no pain.

When my brothers and I were very young, and our Father had died, we were desperately poor; Aunt Elma and Uncle Charles would host us in their home for a week every summer. In that dark time for our own family, they shared their life with us and gave us hope as well as a view of the world beyond our little spot on earth. It was the best thing that could have happened for us. It is never forgotten.
