Obituary of Dorothy Frances Curtis
The guiding light for our family died October 18th at the age of 86. She was born February 19, 1925 in Wilder, Idaho to Ira and Lucile Moulton. She married Tom Curtis June 22, 1950 at her father’s home in Homedale, Idaho. She attended the University of Idaho, and North Idaho College of Education before teaching at Clarkston, WA and Bend, OR.
Her primary interest was always her family, and the welfare of those around her. She did substitute teaching, worked on the election board and other community service, and was a good neighbor to many people. She enjoyed square dancing, card games and cooking and always had cookies for every occasion.
Survivors include her husband Tom Curtis, son Stan Curtis of Portland, daughter Louise and her husband Michael Magarrell of Portland, and daughter Ann and her husband P.J. Hunt of Sammamish, WA, daughter-in-law Irene Curtis of Potlatch, ID, and eleven grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, all four siblings, son Guy Curtis of Potlatch, ID, and daughter-in-law Cody Curtis of Portland.
