Jacqueline “Jackie” Mary Branson
Jacqueline “Jackie” Mary Branson passed away on October 9, 2011 in McMinnville surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Healdsburg, California to Joyce Olander and Eugene Ruano Rivas on November 25, 1950. She was raised in Fortuna, California and graduated from Fortuna Union High School in 1970.
Jackie worked at Bob’s Footlongs in Fortuna and Redwood Restaurant’s in Eureka, California. Her hobbies and activities included: knitting, spending time with her family and animals (especially her dogs), cooking (several family favorites include her famous fried chicken, tacos, and hamburgers), watching movies, volunteering and being there for the less fortunate.
Jackie spent much of her time volunteering within the community and at the St. Barnabas soup kitchen in McMinnville. She loved lending her helping hand to provide for those in need.
“Jackie was an amazing woman who loved and lived by example. She was compassionate, loving and caring, not only to her family, but to anyone she came into contact with. She was selfless and had such a tremendous heart and soul. Heaven needed another angel.” -Family
Jackie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry Branson of McMinnville, OR; son Eric Branson and his fiancé Suzanda Sterrett and her daughter Marissa Sterrett, McMinnville; son Dan Branson and wife Shawn, McMinnville; grandchildren Bryce Branson, Karlee Branson, Tyler Branson, Jasen Branson, and Lexi Branson, McMinnville; sister Lillian Smith, Rosarita Beach, Mexico; and sister Barb Woodbury, White Salmon, Washington. She is preceded in death by her sister Carol Poulter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Branson residence, 840 SW Ashwood Ave. on October 29th at 12 noon. Special thanks to the McMinnville Hospice, Maria Grimaldo, Angelica Renbon and Crown Memorial Center.
