Penelope Adams Doupé September 3, 1926 – October 10, 2011 Penelope Adams Doupé passed away October 10, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. She was 85. Born in Point Pleasant, NJ, the only child of Walter S. Pollard and Marguerite Adams Pollard, Penny spent her first 6 years in Brooklyn, NY. Her mother, widowed when Penny was only 3, married Walter T. Longwell in 1932 and moved to Burlingame, CA. Penny graduated from Oregon State University in 1949 where she was affiliated with Chi Omega. Married from 1949 to 1972, to Rod Clayton, they settled in the Milwaukie area. She was married to Jack Doupé from 1981 until his death in 2003. Penny was an administrative secretary for the North Clackamas School District, retiring in 1991. In recent years, Penny enjoyed visiting local retirement facilities with her dear friends, Lyle & Wilma Chaffee. Lyle would sing while Penny was a sometime soloist and full-time roadie. She is survived by her children, Kimberley (Fritz) Benson, Bradley Clayton & Jill Russo; granddaughters, Amanda Benson and Nicole Russo. Penny will be remembered as the epitome of a lady; a loving mother and doting grandmother. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
