Obituary of Nicholas Jordan

Nicholas Jordan died of cancer on September 13, 2011. He was born in San Francisco on July 30, 1959 and moved to Portland in 1965. He attended Ainsworth Grade School, Lincoln High School, Southern Oregon University, and The Ron Bailey School of Broadcasting. He was diagnosed with Schizophrenia in 1979 and in 1987 he went to live in St. Helens, OR where he was affiliated with Columbia Community Health. He worked as a Barista at their outpatient treatment facility, Creekside Center, in the Express Yourself Café. He is survived by his mother, Rosalie “Peggy” Hammond, fathers, Wayne Jordan and Carl Hammond, brother, John A. Hammond (Robin) and sisters, Hilary Jordan and Kirsten McGarigal (Mark) – and by 4 nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at Columbia Community Mental Health, Northwest Cancer Specialists, Adventist Hospice and Marquis Care at Vermont Hills for extraordinary care and compassion during Nick’s illnesses.
