Obituary of Ruth Irene Shephard
Ruth was born August 10, 1932 in Randolph, Massachusetts , where she also was raised. At the age of 19, she married Edmund Shephard in Randolph. Their first son, Stephen, was born about a year later and their second son, Kevin, was born the next year. Ruth was a homemaker. Over the next 50 plus years, Eddie and Ruth lived in several towns on both east and west coasts.
In October, 2003 Ruth and Edmund moved to Hillsboro, Oregon, to live with their son, Steve, and his wife, Donna. As long as they were able, they regularly attended mass at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Unexpectedly, in the evening of August 26, 2011, Ruth collapsed and could not be resuscitated. She and Eddie were just short of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Edmund L. Shephard of Portland, OR. She is also survived by her sons Stephen Shephard (wife Donna) in Hillsboro, OR and Kevin Shephard (wife Mary) of Litchfield, Arizona. She is further survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
