Obituary of Randall Clark Reece
Randall C. Reece, 65, of Portland, was born in New Albany, Mississippi on March 20, 1946. He graduated and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Chico State University. He was married to Rosalinde (Gilmer) Reece on December 7, 1982.
Randall led a very adventurous life, from working as a trapper in the wilds of California to working with his hands in construction. He was an avid tennis player, long distance runner and cyclist and always interested in introducing others to the things he loved to do himself. He was an unwavering Lakers fan.
A lover of music, Randall Dj’ed at several radio stations where he entertained his community with country, jazz and good ol’ rock 'n roll. Randall also worked as a counselor at his church for 26 years, where he became known for his dedication and sincere love for those he helped.More recently, and as a testament to Randall's tenacity, he learned to play the guitar and became a self-taught chef where he entertained his family with his music and cooking.
Above all, Randall’s proudest accomplishment was being a wonderful grandfather to his three grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah and Elliana.
Randall passed away peacefully August 5, 2011 of cancer, surrounded by family in his home. He is survived by his wife, Rosalinde, brother, Butch, aunt, Sylvia, three sons, Josh, Jamie and Jono, daughter, Elena, grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah and Elliana, mother-in-law Dorothy Ross and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Randall is loved and will be missed.
