I so enjoyed seeing Joan come into the salon visiting Marnie, getting her hair done or bringing Sam in for a visit. She had such good energy and the connection she has with Marnie and Sam and the rest of her family is such a strong bond I can still feel it with them. I have warm memories of her helping me with ceramics and talking with me about our families, and of laughing at her sharp sense of humour. She was quite a woman and I have missed her

I met Joan through work and she had a movie star presence with perfectly painted lips ... and the potty mouth of a trucker which you could not help but giggle at. She always smiled and with hands painful and curling from a nasty disease she was still producing the most intricate work. Visiting her @ West Hills her voice was soft but her smile and style remained. No more pain- may you rest in peace.

I first meet Joan when I was six years old. I always thought she was the coolest mom in the neighborhood!! She let her daughters have kool aide and hostess ding dongs/twinkies, in fact I didn’t even know what those were until I went to the Davis house to see them sitting on top of the mighty tall kitchen cabinets. The love she had for kids and art was evident by her house & property. All the kids wanted to hang at the Davis property; wagon rides behind the riding lawn mower, the fully decked out playhouse, the big barn to play in, a huge property to explore, a garden full of yummy stuff and all the cool art work in the house “CIRCA Joan”. Campfire girl parties/projects, homemade treats during all holidays, craft projects, learning ceramics and numerous other art projects!! Joan made sure us kids were stimulated by the world. We have stayed in touch over the many years, and I loved catching up with Joan & her family during Sam’s cool birthday parties. I am truly going to miss this wonderful lady. My prayers and thoughts are with the Davis family, luv Sheila.

We've just lit a pretty, pink candle in our home for Joan. I'll remember Joan's home cooked family meals that brought everyone together in a homely home decorated with her Christmas ornaments that are second to none and that two-door, white Caddy' that suited her to a tee. For those Joan leaves behind our thoughts are with you. Carrie, Marnie, Del, we wish you and your families peace at this time. Long may your hearts hold on to Joan and that the heartache will ease.

Joan was 'an Angel' my husband, Conor always says. She had a pure heart and a kind word for everybody. She was gentle and loving and the best sister anyone could ever have. I'm so grateful for all the countries we traveled together, all the laughter and fun we had. And that I made a trip to the U.S. and saw her not long ago was a blessing. Though we've lived far apart over the years, she's always been close in my heart and always will be. I love and miss you, Joan and always will.
