Obituary of Kenneth M. Hunt
Kenneth (Ken) M. Hunt, 85, passed away on June 25, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. Ken was born to August and Rose Hunt on August 27, 1925 in Stickney, South Dakota where they lived on a farm. His family moved to Woodburn, Oregon during the depression when he was a young boy. He graduated from Woodburn High School and served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. During his time in the Navy from 1943 to 1945, he was a Storekeeper 3rd Class Petty Officer and received an Honorable Discharge. On April 17, 1948 he married the love of his life, Dolly A. Jeli and they were married for 63 years. Ken worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for many years in the Electronics industry. Aside from work he loved to go fishing, hunting, and spend time working in his garden. Over the course of his life, he was given many nicknames including Ken, Kenny, PaPa, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Dad-O. Ken was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, a Charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Aloha, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Ken will be dearly missed by many. He is survived by his beloved wife Dolly Hunt of Aloha; daughters Linda Welch and husband Darwin of Vernonia, Judy McLennan and husband Jeff of Sandy; sons Larry Hunt and wife Janice of Hillsboro, Kent Hunt of Hillsboro; brother Alfred Hunt of Woodburn; Plus 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Rose Hunt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 30th at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, located at 3145 SW 192nd Avenue, Aloha. The viewing will begin at 9:30am with a Rosary at 10:00am. The family has chosen the following non-profit Organizations if you wish to contribute in Ken’s name.
