Obituary of Steven Edward Vaile
9/18/51 – 6/12/11 Born in Goldendale, WA, Steve spent his childhood primarily in Vancouver, WA., graduating from Hudson Bay High School in ’69. After school, he traveled the world and returned to Portland in the early ‘80’s to the present after having lived in Maui and Los Angeles. Steve was a man of many talents. He was a music composer and producer, an actor and film maker, graphic artist extraordinaire and president of Steve Vaile International. He loved music and even performed for whales off a schooner in Maui. He also hiked the many water falls in the Columbia Gorge, and studied piano composition on the island of Maui with Paul Warner. He had an extensive film and music network and was a member of the ASCAP. Steve is survived by his father; Quentis “Ed” Vaile of Winlock, WA, sister and brother-in-law; Angelique & Burke Harris of Battle Ground, WA, brother; Theodore “Ted” Vaile of Winlock, WA, special friends; Irene Soderberg, Sharon Kay, and Ricky Kendall, Uncle Oval and Aunt Fredia Markham of Dallesport, WA, and nephew; Jonathan Vaile and family of Battle Ground, WA. Steve was preceded in death by his mother; Dolores, and his loving partner; Stuart Foster. Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Portland.
