Obituary of William Pierce
William “Bill” Pierce of McMinnville died June 8, 2011 of sudden organ failure. He was 60. He was born July 21, 1950, in McMinnville Oregon to Aubrey and Vera Bryant Pierce. He married Sandra “Sandy” Bennett on May 22, 1971, in Reno, NV. He served in the Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970. Bill was an officer for the Oregon State Police for 28 years. Among his favorite activities: hunting, fishing for the big one, and puttering in the garage. Bill was also a proud member of the American Legion Post No. 21. Survivors include his wife and two sons, Matthew C. Pierce of Oregon and Jeffrey P. Pierce of South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Oregon State Police Widows and Orphans Fund. A celebration of life is planned for Tuesday, June 14 at Yamhill Valley Vineyards, 6:00-9:00 pm. Children are welcome. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Portland.
