Obituary of Ruth Hudson Dykes
August 20, 1914 – May 15, 2011 Our dear mother passed away due to heart failure on May 15, 2011. Mom was born in Calgary, Alberta to American parents Carl and Marian Hudson. Soon after Mom’s birth, the family moved to Oregon where Ruth had a happy childhood with her beloved sister Betty and brothers Dick and George. Ruth graduated from Franklin High School in 1932 and thereafter went on to be a homemaker and mother of five, bookkeeper, world traveler, and award-winning amateur photographer. Mother had a wonderful sense of humor and adventure and we’ll miss her more than we can say. She was very dear to all her children, other relatives, and many friends. At her request no services will be held. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Salem.
