Obituary of Frances Wiedemann

Frances Marian Wiedemann passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 2, 2011, ending a wonderful life of almost 98 years. Her family was with her. Born in West Linn on Mountain Road she lived there her entire childhood. She married Bob Wiedemann in 1935. They lived Wilsonville their entire lives where they were partners in Wiedemann Brothers Carnation Nursery. She was Wife/Mother Extraordinare as she raised her family and was involved in civic, school and church activities. When Bob died in 1972, she decided to go back to school and got her Associate's Degree in Landscaping at Clackamas Community College at years of age. At that time she also took Bob's position on the Wilsonville Planning Commission and served in that capacity for 19 years during the early years of the city. Two daughters, Linda Engelman and Carolee Schmeer (Blaine) and one son Buz (Trudy) Wiedemann survive her plus seven grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. She loved to entertain and in this respect we will celebrate her life with a memorial “party” on May 28 at 2 PM at Meridian United Church of Christ in Wilsonville. Many thanks to Providence Hospice for their wonderful care. Remembrances may be made to the church or the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Tualatin.
