Obituary of Stephen John Bernard
Stephen John Bernard Stephen John Bernard, 60, passed away on October 29, 2010 in Portland. Stephen was born to Norman and Yvonne Bernard in Salem, Oregon on July 28, 1950. He was raised in St. Paul and attended St. Paul High School. Stephen married Ellen Elizabeth Bernard in 1975 at St. Paul Catholic Church. The couple had three children. Stephen served on a Aircraft carrier during Vietnam in the United States Navy as a jet mechanic and later in the transportation industry, primarily as a truck driver. A few of his favorite past times included hunting, 4-wheeling, drag racing, restoring classic cars, camping and rodeos. He was a member of The Hubs In, and Poorboyoffroad 4-wheel drive clubs. Stephen is survived by his son Stephen Bernard (Tabatha) of Lake Oswego; daughters Shonna Miller (Brandon) of SE Portland, Sarah Bernard of Tigard; sister Sandi Bernard of Canby; nephews Tyson and Levi Wallace of Canby; and 4 grandchildren Cole, Kameryn, Makayla and Cody. A graveside memorial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Friday, November 12th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the Heart Association. Online condolences may be sent at www.ANewTradition.com.
