Obituary of Edward Skotak

Edward Skotak passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2010 after a very brief illness. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Edward’s final moments were spent in the loving company of his wife, Denise, and their two sons William and George. Edward was born March 5th, 1937 in Brno, Czech Republic, where he went on to attend Czech College. He and his bride Denise were joined in marriage on December 13th, 1975—they moved to Oregon in 1981. A builder by trade, he worked for the Beaverton School District and at Westview High School. He enjoyed working in his garden green house, most especially tending to his beloved orchids. He also took care of his Koi pond, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends and traveling. His life was full of happiness, hard work and determined energy. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Edward is survived by his wife Denise, by his sons William Skotak and George Skotak, and by his extended family and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 at the The Rheinlander, 5035 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland, Oregon. Please RSVP by calling (503) 645-0742.
