Obituary of Larry Derryberry
Larry Derryberry, 69, of Molalla, Oregon, passed away in his home on September 18, 2010 following an extended illness. Larry was born in Ada, Oklahoma on May 29, 1941. The family moved to Independence, Kansas in 1942. Larry attended Independence schools and graduated from Independence Junior College in 1960. He married Nancy (Ashenfelter) Derryberry in 1962. The couple moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1963, two children resulted from the union. There his 30 year career with Sears began. After moving from Kansas to Oregon in 1979, he worked at Washington Square, Clackamas Town Center, was transferred to Bellingham, Washington and finally to Sea Tac Mall in Federal Way, Washington where he retired from Sears in 1993. He moved to Vancouver, Washington before relocating to Molalla in 2001. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nancy Derryberry; children; Shari Hayner of Molalla, OR, ad Michael Derryberry of Molalla, OR.; four grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda, Adam and Brandon, two brothers; Bruce of The Dalles, OR and Thomas of Mulino, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murel and Dimple Derryberry. A Celebration of Life will be held in the family home on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM.
