Obituary of Debra Lynne McDonald-Hagg

Debra (Debbie) Lynne McDonald-Hagg passed away September 16th, 2010 at her Sherwood, Oregon home. She was 48 years of age. Born August 26th, 1962 in Berkeley, California Debbie was raised primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from high school in 1980 Debbie joined the Army. In 1984 she gave birth to her first son (John Blaiotta) and then moved to Oregon where she began her career in Dental Education. Upon completion of her training as a dental assistant at Chemeketa Community College Debbie went on to teach Four Handed Dentistry at the OHSU School of Dentistry. She loved working as a dental team educator. Every day and in every class that she taught she received back from her students as much as she gave them. On October 3rd, 1996 Debbie married her soulmate Jeffrey Douglass Hagg in Bullhead City, Arizona. Two years later she gave birth to her second son (Mark Warren Hagg), and when Mark started First Grade she signed him up for Cub Scouts. Debbie had hoped that she would see him through to Eagle Scouts, but will instead be with him in spirit and love as he continues his life journey. For a brief time she sang in the choir at B.C.C., and felt that praising God was one of the greatest joys that man could obtain. Debbie is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Douglas Hagg, and by her sons John Anthony Blaiotta of Vallejo, California and Mark Warren Hagg of Sherwood, Oregon. She is also survived by her brother Warren Clinton McDonald and by her sister Sharon Lee Tubb-Homen. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Willa Fay Hagg, and by a great and beautiful family, including sibling-in-laws, half-cousins, 2nd cousins and on and on. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Clinton and Dolores June Elliott-McDonald. A Celebration of Life will be held for Debbie at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3rd at Edy Ridge Elementary School in Sherwood, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to the OHSU School of Dentistry Building Fund. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
