Obituary of Robert K. Utvick

Robert K. Utvick, 80, died at his residence in Portland on August 2, 2010. Robert was born to Charles and Perilda Utvick on April 20th, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa. As a young man, he enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War. His early career was spent as a timber faller, but over time he transitioned in to a career at Primerica, a company which afforded him the opportunity to put his selflessness to good use working in financial services. He married the love and passion of his life, Margaret; the couple was married for over 30 years. Robert was such a humanitarian and family man that he didn’t really have time to develop any hobbies; he found helping people in need to be extremely gratifying and went to great lengths to lend a hand to those less fortunate than himself . Robert is survived by his wife Margaret Utvick; his children Russ Utvick, Rick Utvick, Rebecca Yingling, Ron Utvick, Michael Blair and Melanie Utvick; his sister Norma Jean Evans; 24 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind an extended family still living in Norway. Robert was preceded in death by his oldest son, Robert D. Utvick. His family would like to thank their countless friends and neighbors who rallied around them during this difficult time in their lives. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7515 NE Ambassador Place, Suite C in Portland, Oregon on August 28th, 2010 at 2:00pm. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Milwaukie.
