Geesh, mom, the dreaded day of knowing I would walk into your empty house has come. There was no place like home because of you. You always said to stay close to family and love my brothers as blood is thicker than water. We did not expect this result as you are such a strong woman. I know you were ready and prepared to be with dad and your Purpose had been fulfilled. Memories are plentiful and it amazes me how often I tell someone about my mom or my dad. The places we have seen, the arts and crafts we did, the picnics we shared, the trips you took the whole family on. It is because of you I love trees, outdoors, stars, flowers, winter, summer, fall, spring, water, boating, camping, singing, dancing, laughing, fireworks, pianos, old music, Marilyn Monroe (because you looked like her), matching outfits, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter hats, picnic baskets, dandelion jewelry, jump rope, hula hoops, hot coca and toast with butter, croquet, jewelry, shoes. My fondest memory is kneeling next to your bedside while you said your prayers and named every single family member along with all those Catholic prayers and blessing. You changed it up from time to time as you often fell asleep at Jeffrey so you started out with him often. How about camping in Iowa and your long silver hair blowing in the breeze as you walked over to get water. How pretty you were! I am so proud of you and your accomplishments, mom. These are only a few of the memories you created just for us and our dad.

Your mom was one of the SWEETEST gals in the world, but of course you already know that, She always reminded me of a little elf because she was so tiny and cute and she did have a bit of magic about her. I am sure you will miss her lots, we never expect our parents to die, I guess we all just think they should live forever, but they will in our hearts and our fond memories. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I was TRULY blessed to have known her and to have received a hand made monkey and a hand made pair of slippers from her. God Bless you all!!

Mom, How blessed I was to have you for my mother. I felt a special closeness to you and appreciate so much the love and support you have given over the years. Your physical presence will be extremely missed. I am so thankful that God has answered your prayers and you will be forever happy and peaceful at his side with loved ones passed before you. Especially Bapa and your parents. You went home to our heavenly Father exactly the way you wanted. What a blessing. My love to you for eternity... Tell Dad I miss him Son Jim

Mother, you are now at peace with our Lord, Dad, and your parents. It could not have been a more perfect day for our trip back to Blue Earth, Mn, to reunite you with all your loved ones past. Thank you for your unconditional love all these years and showing me the importance of family values. You will be forever remembered in our hearts and prayers. Please continue to watch over us as we continue our journey through life. I find peace and comfort knowing your final chapter has ended, just the way you wanted. Oh, yes....we took pictures! I love you MOM!

From recent stories from Jason and Katie Downing who went to vist "Nana" recently she sounds like an amazing woman and I am sure she will be deeply missed. I just started playing cribbage and have heard many tales of her fierce playing. My deepest condolences to you all.

Nana, I know we had our differences. But you were always their for me not matter what and I will forever be thankful for that. You will never know how much you truly meant to me and what a wonderful woman I thought you were. You gave me the greatest gift of all ,a wonderful, loving father that means the world to me and to you as well. Jaylie was so lucky to have been able to spend her first two years of life with you. You were so loving to her, and you had a very special place in your heart for her. The memories of you Nana will be carried on to her forever. I will miss the cribbage tournaments, Sunday dinners, and special occasions we had with our Nana. I will also miss seeing your Volvo with the American flag , flying around town with a little tiny, white haired woman, in the drivers seat. I will always get a smile when I think of how feisty and outspoken you were when you didn't like something or someone I guess that is where the rest of the family gets it from. No matter how mad I would be at you or vice versa we never gave up on our relationship we would always work through it. I will miss you so much. Whenever I look at the night sky a special star will be shining and and I will always remember the many special memories of my Nana. Give Bapa a great big hug for me and tell him I love him and miss him very much. I will see you in heaven. Love forever and always your granddaughter, Jamie Sue
