Obituary of Muthoni N. Shull

Muthoni Njoroge Shull, age 32, passed away tragically from an accident in her home on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019. Muthoni is best remembered for her immense love for her children, fiercely loving her family and friends, and someone whose laughter and smile could fill the room in an instant. She was born April 24, 1987 in Portland, Oregon, to Christina Davis and Kihunyu Njoroge. She graduated from Beaverton High School in 2005, then attended PCC and Lane Community College, and in June 2012 she married Levi Shull. Their daughter Elle, age 7, was born in October 2012, and their son Davis, age 5, was born in November 2014. Muthoni loved her children with every fiber of her being. She guided them to have empathetic hearts and see the world around them. As a military family, they moved to Louisiana and lived there for 4 years, making an impression on the hearts of many. The family returned to Oregon in 2017 where they settled in Salem, and Muthoni quickly created a community of close friends, in true Muthoni fashion. Anyone who crossed paths with her fun-loving personality was drawn to her like a magnet. She could make you laugh like no other with her quick-wit and sense of humor. She was incredibly giving, loyal, genuine, caring, supportive, and very honest. Muthoni had your back if ever needed and was a force to be reckoned with! Muthoni’s passions were many. She loved animals, children, Starbucks, Chipotle, and Louis V. She volunteered at her children’s school, planned family neighborhood functions, and everywhere she went, people gravitated toward her. She was a bright light on this Earth. Muthoni was one of a kind in her strength, her beauty, her amazing sense of style, her dedication and resilience, and her love for her family, friends and most of all her children. Please join us for a Celebration of Life at 11am on Saturday, January 18th at Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre (187 High Street NE, Salem Oregon 97301). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Muthoni’s honor to any children’s or animal charity.
