Obituary of Patricia June Jensen
Patricia (Pat) June (Harbour) Jensen, a long-time resident of Tualatin, Oregon, died December 27, 2019 at Cedar Crest Alzheimer's Special Care Center, Tualatin.
Pat was born July 16, 1946, in Goldendale, Washington, the eldest of nine children of Richard (Dick) Dale Harbour and E. June (Hoctor) Harbour. The family moved to Pullman, Washington where Dick was to become an associate professor of electrical engineering at Washington State University (WSU). Pat graduated from Pullman High School (1964) and WSU (1968), with a B.A. degree in office administration (business administration) and a secondary school teaching certificate.
Pat’s career began at the WSU Office of Staff/Personnel where she worked while attending the university and for a short time after graduation. Soon after college, Pat was hired by Jantzen Inc. (1968) and moved to Portland. She was with the firm ten years primarily in the Misses’ Sales and Marketing Departments.
While at Jantzen, Pat met and married (1974) the love of her life, Robert Julius Jensen Jr., a fellow Jantzen employee. She then enjoyed several years as an “at home” mom with daughter Sarah Kathleen and son Robert Julius III.
When the children were in school, Pat resumed her career with a part-time position as office manager for Regions Service Corporation (1985), then a part-time position as a loan processing assistant with Continental Mortgage Co. (1986).Her job with the bank (now HomeStreet Bank) evolved into a full time role and she retired in 2009 as an assistant vice president and construction loan officer.
Pat was an extremely kind, caring person who enjoyed helping others, and was well loved by her family and all who knew her.She loved long walks in good company (particularly at Cannon Beach) and any book or movie with an engaging story, and had beautiful deep blue eyes and a wonderful smile.Bob and Pat shared 46 wonderful years together. They particularly enjoyed travel, visiting Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, and Mexico, as well as cruising Alaska (two times!) and New Zealand/Australia.
Pat is survived by her devoted husband Bob, daughter Sarah, and son Robert, as well as siblings Charles R. Harbour (Pamela), of Pullman, WA; John R. Harbour, (Katherine), of Manakin-Sabot, VA; William M. Harbour (Anita), of Olympia, WA; Mary A. Merritt (Michael), of Renton, WA; Sally M. Harbour, of Pullman; Joseph D. Harbour (Cheri), of Maple Valley, WA; and Susan K. Harbour, of Mount Vernon, WA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Pat was predeceased by her parents and brother George.
Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Goldendale, Washington, with her mother’s family.A special thank you to the management and staff at Cedar Crest for their compassionate, loving care of our angel Pat over the past year.We also appreciate the additional care provided by the staff of Bristol Hospice during Pat’s final three months.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 25th at 2:00 PM at Riverside Golf & Country Club (South Ball Room, 8105 NE 33rd Drive, Portland, Oregon 97211).
