Obituary of Curtis Alan Campbell

Curtis Alan Campbell “Highlander” July 26th, 1956-December 25th, 2019 Curt was born in Port Angeles, WA, the second son of Douglas B. Campbell and Frances (Bline) Campbell. He passed away on Christmas Morning, 2019 at Portland Providence Hospital, following an intense battle with Metastatic Melanoma. Curt was passionate about working with his hands. He often reminisced about his time working on submarines at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut. He also spent time working in various machine shops and manufacturing companies, both on the east coast and in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Curt thoroughly enjoyed inventing and engineering his way out of any difficulty. He eventually put his creative talents to work building whips for his own company, ConZept DeZigns. He and his wife Reesey travelled together extensively to promote his work throughout their marriage until his cancer diagnosis in 2017. Curt loved his whips. His passion for his craft was apparent to anyone who knew him, and he could wax poetic on the physics and design nuances for hours if you let him. His blue eyes twinkled and danced and his impish grin went on for miles when he had a whip in his hand. Building, throwing, and teaching...he relished it all. Curt is survived by his wife Teresa (Reesey) Campbell, his sister Charity Miller, sister-in-law Tamara Campbell, his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Doug, and previous spouse Deborah. He will be missed by many. Memorial Services are planned for Spring/Summer 2020. Curt’s ashes will be spread in Puget Sound at Saltwater State Park in Federal Way, WA so that he can join his parents & brother Doug at rest. They will also be fired from a cannon to honor his pirate family at a TBD location in Oregon.
