Obituary of Terry Lee Morton

Terry Lee Morton, of Tigard, OR passed away peacefully in Tualatin, OR on December 17, 2019 at the age of 71 after a short but courageous fight with cancer. Terry was born on February 22, 1948 to Ozzy and Julie Morton of Salem, OR. He spent his childhood in Salem and graduated from South Salem High School in 1966. While attending Oregon State University, Terry enlisted in the Army where he served his country in Germany and then in the Vietnam War.After his honorable discharge, he found work in mainframe computers, which became his lifelong career. Known as a kind, funny, loving and beloved father, grandfather, and friend who loved life, family and friends. Terry enjoyed many hobbies including hot rods, Harleys, skiing, wind surfing, boating, rv’ing and golfing. Hot rods were his passion that began in high school and his final project was a nine-year labor of love. A loyal friend who was always ready to help, many called him their best friend. His quick wit was sure to make you laugh! In life, Terry was a happy and positive person. He said he did not want a funeral because he didn’t want people standing around crying for him (for those of you who knew him well you can hear him saying this!). Instead, he wanted a party. The family intends to hold a celebration of life after the New Year. Details to follow soon. He is survived by his partner, Shelli Mays, four children Tori Hess (Herb), Travis Morton, Trissa Tower (Leland), Tyler Morton (Monique) and 11 grandchildren: Gage, Ilie, and Cade (Tori); Taylee and Tayden (Travis); Adrina and Layden (Trissa); Keegan, Jaren, Rylee, and Brent (Tyler).
