Obituary of John Allen Warnell

Born in Seattle, Washington to John Allen Warnell and Carmen Alam Warnell (Grandy) (both deceased). Jack joined the Army right out of high school where he was a tank battalion trainer during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jack completed a machinist internship and went to work for Continental Can, where he worked for 37 years. After his retirement in 1990, he started a successful business and went on to have two of his three sons work in the family business. Jack spent many days on the water in Tillamook Bay and later became an avid fly fisher. Jack was thought of by many as the kindest, most gentle, patient and humble man they had ever known. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn Jo Warnell (Irwin), 3 sons: Rob Warnell, Scott Warnell and Mark Warnell. Brother Jerry Warnell, and 8 grandchildren (Ryan, Carter, Max, Noah, Lucas, J.P., Jessie and Cameron). Jack had many great lifelong friends going all the way back to high school and his time with Continental Can. He talked nearly every day with his closest and oldest companion, Don Carlson. The family will be holding a celebration of Jack's life on January 4th, 1:00pm at the King City Golf Course clubhouse, 15245 SW 116th Avenue, King City, OR 97224. Anyone who knew Jack is welcome to attend. Donations can be made to Friends of the Children (www.friendsofthechildren.org).
