Obituary of Brenda Kay Buck
Brenda Kay Buck of Philomath passed away on Tuesday, December 17th at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer in mid-January of this year.Facing her foe with grace, courage, strength and dignity she spent these last 11 months undergoing traditional chemo, radiation and immune therapies at Willamette Valley Cancer Center and Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.She had achieved temporary relief and fought hard, but ultimately the complications of the disease soon continued their inexorable march. The family wishes to thank Dr. Yang at Willamette Valley Cancer Center as well as Dr. Yey and Dr. Gow at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for their help in Brenda’s fight.The family would especially like to thank the amazing team at Lumina Hospice Care for their caring professionalism and immeasurable support to Brenda in her last days as well as their comforting compassion to the family.
Brenda was born in Seneth, Missouri on August 21, 1953 in Dunklin County, located in the southern Missouri foothills of the Bible belt.She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and is the daughter of Edmond Oscar Juncker and Deloris May (Neumen) Juncker.In 1972 her adventurous spirit took over and she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she eventually met her husband Bruce Michael Buck.The two wed on January 18, 1974 and later had three beautiful daughters.In 1989 Bruce and Brenda moved the family to Oregon where they settled in the small Mill town of Philomath.
Brenda worked in manufacturing for 48 years, 27 of those was with Hewlett Packard where she received many honors for her work throughout the years.But she always said her crowning glory was having her daughters and helping raise her grandbabies. Brenda had a heart of gold and never hesitated to help those out that needed it even if that meant that she just barely got by herself.Brenda was a strong Christian woman and favored quoting scripture to guide her herself, her family and the growth of her daughters and grandkids.You would often hear her quote Mark 12:41-44, Luke 21:1-4, Psalms 23 and 91, but her most favorite of all was Ephesians 6:10-20.
Brenda is survived in life by her daughters Leanna Buck and Sarah Schliebe, her Son-in-Law Andrew Schliebe, Grandchildren Reynece Ryan, Stryker Steinke, Emmitt Schliebe, Elijah Schliebe and Eric Schliebe.Her sisters Sandra Wittmaier, Lois Helfrich and Sheila Sheley, and Brother-in-law’s Harold Wittmaier and Bob Helfrich as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in life by her parents, Edmond and Deloris Juncker, her daughter Jessica Buck and her sister Barbra Blackburn.
