Obituary of Diane Carol Leonetti
On December 12th, 2019, Diane C. Leonetti, loving mother of four and grandmother of three, passed away from heart failure at the age of 82. She spent her final years in Canby, Oregon, enjoying new friends, her community at Hope Village Meadows, her church family at Zoar Lutheran Church and her Rackleff Place Assisted Living community.
Diane was born on April 4th, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to Italian immigrants, Charles and Angelina Leonetti. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1955 and received her nursing degree from Portland Community College in 1974. She practiced nursing for over 30 years in Portland and retired after many years of service from Kaiser as a Surgical Prep Nurse.
She loved her family dearly and had a passion for cooking, shopping, and infomercials. Her home was often the center of many gatherings, marked by her joy for life. She was generous, had a gift for creativity, and a laugh that was infectious.
Diane wasn’t just a great Mom, Daughter, Sister, and Aunt, but she was also, at the heart of it, a great friend to all.
Who she was as a person and her wonder for life will be tremendously missed.

She is survived by her four children: Michael Schwary, Mark and Livia Schwary, Angela LaFontaine, John and Christie Schwary, and her three grandchildren: Elizabeth LaFontaine, Brynn Schwary, and Marina Schwary.
