Obituary of Anthony Sumner Lewis

Anthony Sumner Lewis lost his five year battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday November 10th 2019 at the age of 60. Tony was born in Portland, Oregon on March 13, 1959. He grew up in Portland, attending Ainsworth Elementary, Lincoln High School, Oregon State and Portland State Universities. In his youth Tony participated in Boy Scouts, proudly attaining the highest level of Eagle Scout. Tony was an intelligent, brave and funny man who was passionate about the outdoors. He loved hiking the beautiful forests of the Pacific Northwest and backpacking. He was renowned as the leader and organizer of the famed Sawtooth Expedition in Idaho that his friends still speak of to this day. He loved to ski, spending many weekends with friends on the slopes of Mt Hood and Mt Bachelor. He enjoyed golf, which he didn’t get to play enough, and Formula 1 Racing. His favorite events were watching races locally, going to the historic races in Monterey California at Laguna Seca and viewing the exotic cars at the Pebble Beach weekend. Tony was a hardworking Jack-of-all-trades. He worked for Pacificorp in IT for 21 years. He successfully engaged in a lifetime of entrepreneurial real estate endeavors. Tony was very knowledgeable about most every aspect of home building and repair. He gave freely of his expertise and time, assisting innumerable neighbors and friends with their repair and maintenance needs. Tony was preceded in death by his father, William Arthur Lewis, his mother Shirley Jeanne Lewis and his beloved border collie mix dog Waffles. Tony is survived by his wife of 26 years, Chyral Reasoner, his most beloved daughter Heather, sister Wendy Jones (Doug) and several nephews and nieces. He left behind many close lifelong friends to whom he was fiercely loyal. His friends could always count on him to be there for them in any moment of need. In accordance with his wishes, Tony was cremated and no service was held. A celebration of his life will be held in January 2020.
