Obituary of Trent Alexander McKenzie

Trent Alexander McKenzie, youngest son of Kent and Corrine McKenzie, and brother of Travis and Lauren, passed away after a nineteen year battle with a genetic disease known as Metachromatic Leukodystrophy. Trent was a normal, healthy child, who at the age of 10 was diagnosed with this disease. Up until he began to show symptoms, he lived a life of fun, laughter, and love. He enjoyed the beach, particularly Cape Lookout on the Oregon Coast. Among his favorite foods were hamburgers, Mr. Misty from Dairy Queen, spaghetti with parmesan cheese only, and Skittles. He loved playing football in the backyard in the fall, jumping in the leaves, swimming, and video games. He wanted to grow up to be a video game creator. He idolized his older brother and played dress up with his older sister. He spent hours with friends and cousins laughing. He and his father could quote lines from lots of movies and have everyone laughing. He even came up with nicknames for himself, but he was mostly called Trentster. He loved his cat and dog and animals in general. He maintained his laugh up until the last 3-4 years. He will be missed and has touched many lives with the grace and strength with which he faced his disease. He is our hero, and his courage and love will outlast him. Donations can be sent to the mldfoundation.org in his name.
