Obituary of Ronald Frank Cook

Ronald Frank Cook, 69, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Friday, December 6, 2019 at home in Troutdale Oregon, surrounded by his loving family following a 2 year long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease). Ron was an avid fisherman who loved the great outdoors. He was a gun enthusiast who was a proud member of the Douglas Ridge Gun Club. Ron was a great player of card, dice, & board games. He will be remembered fondly for his love of the ‘rules.’ Ron was also a great cat fancier and lover. Ron loved to travel with his wife, family, & friends to places such as Hawaii, Australia, Tennessee, & the Oregon Coast. He loved the beach & enjoyed swimming & snorkeling. Ron was a devoted Christian man. Ron worked at the City of Gresham’s Fire Marshal’s Office for 18 years. Ron also worked at TSA for 8 years & had many funny stories. Ron will be remembered for his life-long devotion to his loving wife, faith in God, & his courageous battle with ALS. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Toni J Cook, of Troutdale Oregon, brother Gary Cook & wife Nancy of Green Valley, Arizona, and brother Douglas Cook & wife Lorri of Eugene, Oregon. Ron was born in Oakland California to Laurence Allen Cook and Clarabella Edythe Cook. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, extended family & many wonderful friends. A Celebration of Life will be held honoring Ron on December 30th at 2:00pm at Pathway Church Gresham, 3848 NE Division St., Gresham, Oregon. A reception will follow.
