Obituary of Robert Frank Mann
Bob was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many. After suffering with Ankylosing Spondylitis for many years and most recently with Bulbar ALS, Bob passed away peacefully with family by his side on the morning of November 25, 2019.
Bob was born in Seattle, WA on September 15, 1944 to Ray & Frances Mann. Later the family moved to the Alderwood Manor area where Bob spent his childhood through High School. Bob joined the Army on January 6, 1966 and served through March 10, 1970. He achieved the grade of Captain in the Signal Corp and served in Stuttgart, Germany and Vietnam. He was always a proud veteran and loved his country. He worked in the Electronics industry from 1975 to 2004. At one point during his career, Bob and his partner established an electronics manufacturer’s rep business which eventually merged with another firm. At home, Bob was always a great handyman and if you needed a tool, Bob had it! He also enjoyed spending time working in his yard. Over the years Bob and Gail had numerous travel adventures through-out Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and recently traveled to Australia and New Zealand.
Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gail; daughters, Laurie and Kim; son, Brian (Annie); as well as four grandchildren, Morgan, Nicole, Brady & Reagan. Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Bennett.
A Celebration of Life event is scheduled on January 11, 2020. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to one of his favorite charities, Spondylitis.org or ALSoregon.org.
