Thomas was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Thomas Elbert Puckett Jr. and Lea~retta Belle Hitzeman. Tom lived in 44 of the 48 continental states while his dad worked on the pipeline. Thomas joined the United States Air Force in 1961, during the Vietnam era. Tom moved to Salem in December of 1967, where he met his loving wife Linda L. Burns. They met in February, dated in March, engaged in April and were married on May 31, 1968. They shared almost 42 loving years together. Thomas and Linda retired in Prineville, Oregon in 2006.
He is survived by his wife and four children. Two daughters; Jodie Leanne Meyer, of Norman, Oklahoma and Melissa Kay Roberts, of Salem, Oregon Two sons; Walter John Meyer and Michael Thomas Meyer both of Prineville, Oregon. Nineteen grandchildren and four great~grandchildren. Two brothers Larry Lee Meyer of Prumff, Nevada and Rod Eugene Meyer of Yuma, Arizona. His father, mother and younger sister preceded him in death. His favorite verse was Psalms 23.
