You were one of the smartest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever known. I learned a lot from you. I wish we would have been able to get together for coffee but knowing you via Facebook was still wonderful, and your presence sure will be missed. You’ve earned a beautiful pasture with your horses. Rest In Peace forevermore Don!

This is such a loss. Don was my foster adoption trainer, over 25 years ago. He visited with us, and came to our adoption anniversary celebrations. I always admired Don, and credited him with successfully adopting and raising three amazing kids from foster care—and then going on to foster others. He was a deeply special man who changed so many lives for the better.

Dear family of Don, I have never forgotten him! He was a trainer for adoptive parents for children removed from their parents due to drugs and neglect. I remember his bone deep kindness. His realistic teaching on how broken these children could be. His instruction on how much love they would require and how much grace they would need! His words held me strong through our adoption of a very difficult drug affected child. He helped me understand this child through her eyes. This helped me not to give up through terrible times. He is a good man! I have no doubt he flew straight to heaven for his care of these poor children and education of their clueless adoptive patents. This man had a great heart! I am forever thankful!

Don was my mentor and friend for years. I used what he taught me to help families from Florida to the state of Washington. Dozens of people all over the country have Don to thank for getting their children out of foster care. Altruism in the dictionary should simply have a picture of Don.
