Obituary of Albert Feiner

Albert Feiner was born on March 25, 1925 in New York City to Rae and Max Feiner. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 in his home at Willamette View, a retirement community in Portland, OR, one week after the celebration of the 70th anniversary of his marriage to Yolanda. Yoli was present at the time of Al’s death. Al volunteered for military service while he was a freshman in college. He became a navigator in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was based in eastern Italy. On his return to the States after the war, Al resumed his college education. Al and Yoli met in 1948 and married on October 22, 1949. After graduation they moved to Rome, NY where their 3 children - Debra, Stephen and Jodi - were born. As an electronics engineer, Al became involved in early satellite communications. He traveled extensively throughout the world in order to introduce and advance the use of satellites in health and education. Al instilled his love of knowledge and all things science in his three children and four grandchildren. To this day, they all love science fiction, fantasy and animated movies. Al also “infected” them with the “travel bug” as evidenced by the extensive travel of his children and grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by his mother, Rae, his father, Max, and sister, Estelle. He is survived by his wife, Yoli, their 3 children and their families: Debra and John Child and their children Micah and Alexi; Steve Feiner and Mari Yerger and their children Zachary and Rachel, and Jodi Feiner and Duccio Strigini. The Child and Feiner families reside in Oregon, and Jodi and Duccio live in England. Al was known for his kind manner, funny love poems to Yoli, a dry wit and his unbounded love for his family. He was a kind soul and his warmth, humor and curiosity about the world will be sorely missed. At Al’s request, his military burial is private.
